Knees, joints, peeps.

Well, my knee has gotten much better. It's still swollen a bit, but it's not at all an impediment to ambulation around the compound. I don't even limp anymore. I stopped my meds on Sunday but keep some ibuprofen on me for when the need arises. So far, it hasn't. I suppose I could be taking it for the swelling, but I'm not sold on the idea that it was helping with that.

If Dr. Frank is right, and the knee problems are from Reactionary (Reactive? I keep forgetting) Arthritis flaring up when there's an infection elsewhere in the body, there is evidence from my past week to support it: My knee started to become far less painful (and stressful) during the course of my antibiotics (to treat the "raging UTI" I apparently had). I doubt the antibiotics went straight for the knee, so, if they did fix the infection, the correlation with my knee getting better supports his nomination of Reactive (Reactionary?) Arthritis as a probable cause of my past two years of cruddy living. Now I have to wait and see if my knee will get worse as I am no longer on antibiotics. I plan to visit a homeopath in Arusha this weekend or next week.

There are a few people on staff of the board here who have arthritis. One of them is Penn, who has problems with one of her fingers. We gave her one of the moxabustion thingies our acupuncturist gave me for my arthritis and she said it gave her full relief for 24 hours. Sweet! We gave her some more to use whenever she needs. I'm going to see if I can order some online or buy some more from the acupuncture clinic I go to and have it shipped here via Maine.

On the social aspect of things, which has remained nothing more than strange and haphazzard, there have been more, pointless developments, this time bleeding into the staff. I will write on that later, but for now, I must run, as it is time for playgroup!
